About the Awards

The 13th CII Northern Region Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Awards 2026 recognize organizations leading in Environment, Health & Safety. We celebrate companies that embed sustainability, robust health systems, and best-in-class safety into everyday business – moving beyond compliance to create impact. The Awards are a platform to benchmark performance, share innovation, and inspire resilient, responsible, future-ready workplaces aligned with ESG and employee well-being.

Industry Type

The awards are sector-neutral, acknowledging excellence in EHS across various industries. Eligible participants include independent businesses, manufacturing units, and divisions within manufacturing or service sectors operating in India for a minimum of two years. Projects in construction, infrastructure, and utilities that have been active for at least six months are also eligible.

EHS Commitment

Applicants must exhibit a clear commitment to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) by demonstrating effective, measurable practices that integrate EHS into their daily operations and long-term business strategies.

Regulatory Compliance

Participants must be compliant with all relevant environmental and occupational health and safety regulations, with appropriate documentation to support their claims.

Conflict of Interest

To maintain impartiality, organizations with representatives on the Jury panel are not eligible to participate.

Platinum Award

Highest Honor

The most prestigious recognition, awarded to organizations that exhibit exceptional EHS performance, innovative practices, and an outstanding safety culture. One Platinum Award winner will be selected in each category.

Gold Award

Min. 95%

Awarded to organizations with robust EHS management systems, measurable performance outcomes, and a strong culture of continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental excellence.

Silver Award

Min. 85%

Presented to organizations that demonstrate structured Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices, effective risk management, and a commitment to maintaining safe and sustainable operations.

Competition Process

The competition follows a structured 5-stage process across Manufacturing, Service, and Infrastructure & Construction sectors.

Apply & register

Complete the online application and pay the fee. Your portal account is created and approved.

Submitting of the questionnaire

Unlock the checklist, answer the EHS questionnaire and upload your pre-assessment dossier.

On-site assessment

Two assessors will be visiting your site, visit will start with presentation followed by verify documents and evaluate your site against the EHS framework.

Review & validation

The committee reviews and validates the assessment reports to determine the winners.

Recognition ceremony

Top scorers present; winners are recognised and every participant will receive the Recognition Award.

GST @18% will be charged over and above the participation fee. Participation fee is non-refundable. The fee includes assessors' fee. Boarding, lodging, and travel expenses of the assessors will be borne by participating companies.

Organisations anywhere in India. Manufacturing and service units operating for at least two years are eligible; construction, infrastructure and utilities projects active for six months or more are also encouraged to apply. Sector-neutral.

On the assessment score and framework: Silver from 85%, Gold from 95%. The Platinum is chosen from the top performers through a presentation and a final site visit.

By your organisation's annual turnover and CII membership status (18% GST applies). The self-assessment checklist unlocks once the fee is paid.

Two assessors verify your self-assessment checklist and documents, then conduct an on-site evaluation tailored to your unit's size, products and services, scoring against the national EHS framework. Every participant receives a detailed feedback report.

Yes. Organisations that have previously participated are welcome to reapply, and progression across categories is encouraged year on year.
